KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) expressed concerns over a decreasing trend in exports, and said that even the European Union’s preferential tariff scheme GSP+ status had failed to increase exports.
FPCCI President Mian Muhammad Adrees held administrative measures and bureaucratic hurdles responsible for the decline. The textile sector was confronted with problems and even GSP+ had failed to increase exports, he said.
He said the rupee’s appreciation against the dollar was also negatively impacting the country’s exports.
