FAISALABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office (RTO) could not get the sales record of Rashid Textiles because the officials did not obtain the search warrants.

Sources informed Customs Today that Assistant Commissioner Ghulam Mustafa along with an auditor and two inspectors conducted a raid at the mill to seize the record but could not get it due to the intervention of the owner. They added that mill owner asked the officials for search warrants before seizing the company’s record, which the officials could not produce. On this, the owner restrained the officials from getting the record.

The RTO’s deputy commissioner said that Rs 40 million were liable towards the textile mill in the wake of sales tax. Meanwhile, the sales tax staff has been appointed at the mill to monitor the tax ratio.
