iBall unveils Windows-based Slide WQ149i, Slide WQ149R hybrid tables for Rs. 18,499, Rs. 19,999 respectively

NEW DELHI: iBall has launched its two new Windows-based hybrid tablet PCs, the iBall Slide WQ149i and iBall Slide WQ149R – priced at Rs. 18,499 and Rs. 19,999 respectively.

Both the 2-in-1 tablet PCs are essentially the same device, with the iBall Slide WQ149i offering only Wi-Fi connectivity, and the iBall Slide WQ149R offering 3G connectivity in addition. Additionally, both the devices are 3G ready via the ‘Ultra Stick 3G’ slot (to be purchased separately), and run on Windows 8.1.

The iBall Slide WQ149i and Slide WQ149R feature a 10.1-inch WXGA (1280×800 pixels) IPS multi-touch display, and are powered by a Intel Atom processor (up to 1.83GHz) coupled with 2GB of DDR3 RAM.

The iBall Slide WQ149i and Slide WQ149R pack a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera. The inbuilt storage is 32GB, but there is no word on further expandability via microSD card. However, the company is offering a free Microsoft Office 365 licence and 1TB of free OneDrive cloud storage for one year.

The iBall Slide WQ149R includes 3G connectivity in addition to the iBall Slide WQ149i’s Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB, Micro-USB, HDMI, Bluetooth, and USB OTG options. Both the hybrid devices are also bundled with a pogo-pin keyboard.

Sandeep Parasrampuria, Director of iBall said, “In this era of smartphones and tablets, users need the hybrid combination giving them power to create and yet offering the easy mobility. The two-in-ones are set to become the trend for business and education. iBall prouditself in collaborating with Microsoft and Intel and bring this trend to the Indian market in keeping with their global plans. “
