The USB Type-C connector not only facilitates higher data transfer speeds that match up to USB 3.1 but also a reversible plug that will save all those precious seconds you waste trying to plug the port right.

To explain the functionality of the USB Type-C port in the new Chromebook Pixel, Google’s Adam Rodriguez in a video said, “We at are Google very committed to the USB Type-C spec, expect to see this in a lot Chromebooks and Android phones in the near future.”

The new MacBook from Apple is also featuring the same USB port that comes with the new Chromebook Pixel. With the two of the biggest tech giants adopting the new technology, USB Type-C port will soon be the most common connector. Before the end of this year there are high chances that a lot of devices will carry the Type-C port.
