JEDDAH: At the reception of largest container ship in the world, CSCL GLOBE, belonged to Nabeel Al-Amoudi, president of Saudi Ports Authority, revealed that Jeddah Islamic Port (JIP) manages around 60% of the sea traffic in the Red Sea.
Speaking about the largest ship at Jeddah Islamic port (JIP), which has the maximum capacity of 19,100 twenty-foot containers at a time. Welcoming the CSCL GLOBE, he stated that the port is qualified as to receive the largest ships in the world which will increase a trust by the international sea liners in the Saudi ports adding further that (JIP) has the ability to handle largest ships by its advanced technologies.
He explained that the port is qualified to receive the largest ships in the world, and welcoming CSCL GLOBE here at the port confirms the trust put by international sea liners in the Saudi ports and its capability to handle and manage such advanced technologies. “This event is an opportunity to prove the size of development and growth of (JIP) in terms of the services, facilities, infrastructure and the qualified personnel,” he added.
Al-Amoudi added that, by demonstrates the latest technology it can make services better for continues development in the port to keep pace with global norms and standard, especially that the sea transport and shipment can dive the wheel of economic development.
Pointing out that, being the center of Global navigation line which connects Asia and Europe ,kingdom take more interests for this event at (JIP).
According to Mohammad Al-Mudaris,CEO of the specialized Industrial Services Co Ltd.(SISCO) which is also the owner and shareholder of the Red Sea Gateway Terminal Company(RSGT) ,the event reflects the growth and development witnessed by JIP in terms of services. He added, about 65 percent of the exports and imports of kingdom pass through this port, the port is ready to receive large and giant ships in future.
Soren Hansen, managing director of RSGT, said that in preparation and readiness for welcoming giant Ships Company is focusing on maintaining and developing its relations with all stake holders.
