SYDNEY: Like with any major title released today, some gamers were inquiring about BioWare’s future DLC plans for Dragon Age: Inquisition since before the game was even launched. However, it seems that the number of fans looking for details on the first Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC is increasing every day after the developer confirmed last month that the development of an upcoming add-on has officially begun.

Even though Inquisition has been out for several months now, not much has been said about DLC for the game. Laidlaw explained to Eurogamer that the reason Bioware is being so quiet on the issue isn’t some marketing scheme or anything like that, but it is instead because the Inquisition team still hasn’t “locked down” anything.

I wouldn’t say it’s a conscious decision [to not talk about Inquisition’s DLC] so much as us making sure anything we’re working on is locked down before we talk about it. I don’t have anything official to announce but I’d say you won’t have to wait too much longer.

Laidlaw continued by mentioning that the “Black Emporium” update, which will bring special shops to the game and allow players to customize their character’s appearance via an in-game mirror, still needs to be rolled out. After that, the team might focus on putting out more multiplayer DLC, which it had previously promised would be free to everyone.

I’d say it’s possible there will be more Dragon Age – there’s certainly no impediments to it. But first we have to finish the patch cycle and put out the [previously announced] Black Emporium update. We’ve also talked about multiplayer DLC – we’ve put out one pack and would like to do another.

However, that doesn’t rule out the possibility of single player DLC, as Laidlaw notes that the team would like to satisfy players who want to know more about certain characters in the main campaign or more about the game’s ending.

The two big pulls are – ‘I want more of this game’ and ‘I’ve reached the ending and I want to know more about the characters, or one specific character.’ I don’t want to go into too much detail but I’m well aware of both of those camps and I’d like to see both of those groups satisfied before we’re done

While he never gives any concrete details or release dates for any DLC, Laidlaw’s comments certainly make it seem like single player DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition might not be all that far off.
