NEW DELHI: Indian customs has seized illegal smuggling of 472.5 grams of gold at Mangaluru international Airport and arrested Thane resident, Deepak Nachalda Wadhwa.
A release said customs officers checked Deepak soon after he landed by the Jet Airways flight from Dubai. The officers found Deepak concealing gold bars and rectangular gold objects in his rectum. The officers recovered 10 gold bars and two rectangular gold objects from Wadwa.
The accused was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, who remanded Wadwa to judicial custody till March 28. Investigation was on to find other persons involved with Wadwa, the release.
