Customs seizes drugs at Hong Kong airport

HONG KONG: Customs officers confiscated about 6.8 kgs of cannabis resin at the Hong Kong International Airport from two male passengers and arrested them.

The arrested men arrived at Hong Kong from Kolkata via Bangkok. They were suspected to put the drugs in a checked-in suitcase to escape Customs’ detection. The arrested men aged 36 and 31. Under the Hong Kong law, drug trafficking is a serious offence. The maximum penalty can be up to life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
