Microsoft Windows 10 to be available in 111 languages for 190 countries in this summer

NEW YORK: According to the company, Microsoft Windows 10 will be releasing in 190 countries in 111 languages ‘this summer’. Microsoft executive vice president Terry Myerson made the announcement at the Windows Hardware Engineering Community (WinHEC) summit in Shenzhen, China.

“We continue to make great development progress and shared today that Windows 10 will be available this summer in 190 countries and 111 languages,” Myerson noted in a blog post.

“Windows has been global with more than 1.5 billion users around the world and here in China hundreds of millions of PCs operate Windows today.”

The tech giant announced that Windows 10 will be offered as a free upgrade for any user running Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 for the first year after it is released.

Microsoft also revealed multiple partnerships with various global PC manufacturers like Lenovo, Tencent and Qihu 360, for Windows 10’s China launch.

As part of the partnership deal, Lenovo will offer Windows 10 upgrade services at more than 2,500 locations that include service centers and retail stores. Tencent will develop a Windows 10 version of the QQ app, an application which is used by more than 800 million users and Xiaomi will invite a select group of Mi 4 power users to test out Windows 10 and contribute to its future release later this year.

An exact Windows 10 launch date is yet to be announced.
