SPI for combined income group sees 0.23pc decline, for Rs8,000- group down by 0.23pc

ISLAMABAD: Weekly inflation for combined income group witnessed a decline of 0.23 percent for the week ended March 19 versus the previous week, as per Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data.

The Sensitive Price Index (SPI) monitors prices of 53 items based on the survey of markets in 17 cities. For the lowest income group earning up to Rs8,000, the SPI decreased by 0.23pc over the previous week, while inflation for the top income group (Rs35,000 and above) was down by 0.21pc. As compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined group in the week under review declined by 2.51pc.
