MOSCOW: Head of Russia’s Far East Seafarers’ Union, Nikolai Sukhanov, told that Russia had paid a fine of $200,000 to release cargo vessel from India.
An Indian court has released a Russian cargo ship that tried to fleet an arrest order last month. The 8,700-dwt Sevastopol (built 2001) was the subject of an 11-hour sea chase off Mumbai after it left port.
The Russian-flagged vessel, operated by Gudzon Shipping of Vladivostok, was the subject of an arrest order by Madras high court in a commercial dispute with NTC Logistics, the Times of India reported.
