BEIJING: Lenovo has announced that it will be updating seven of its Android smartphones to Lollipop. All the updates will be released in second quarter of this year.

As per the Android Upgrade Matrix page on the company website, Lenovo A5000, A6000, P70-A, S90-A, Vibe X2, Vibe Z2 and Vibe Z2 Pro smartphones will be lucky to get the Android 5.0 update.

Other Lenovo devices will either won’t to get the Lollipop update or the update plan hasn’t been finalized for them. Users can visit the upgrade matrix webpage to get a clear idea about the software fate of their Lenovo smartphone.

Although Lenovo’s turn-around time for Android updates doesn’t seem all that great, it is good to know that at least the company is working on these updates, like the popular saying goes – better late than never.

We expect the company to release Android 5.0 for Vibe Z2 Pro first, followed by other smartphones. The company hasn’t shared any official change-log at this point, but we expect the usual Lollipop goodies.
