Rs160,000 and Rs0.4m compensations for each Op victim: KP NAB nabs FDMA AD, 2 others for Rs60m embezzlement

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa zone has arrested FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) Assistant Director Irfanullah, United Bank Limited Officer Grade -III Amjad Ali Regi and, Habib Bank Limited Bajaur Agency Branch Manager Sardar Khan Inayat Kali for their alleged involvement in embezzlement of funds in the compensation payment made to the victims of terrorism after operation in Mohmand Agency.

The accused persons embezzled the amount of Rs160,000 for each partially damaged houses and Rs400,000 for complete damaged houses announced by the government for the compensations of Mohmand and Bajaur Agencies victims.

During the inquiry, it was revealed that the accused Irfanullah, Assistant Director (FDMA) in connivance with others created 122 fake survey forms and made fake signatures of FDMA representatives and Tehsildar of Mohmand Agency on these forms. The accused then opened fake bank accounts in the name of so-called victims, through Amjad Ali, an employee of the United Bank Limited (UBL) Regi Branch Karkhano Peshawar and Sardar Khan of Habib Bank Limited.

Moreover, they also entertained 40 fake survey forms, which were not even signed by the political administration and pocketed approximately Rs60 million of compensation amount.

The NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is actively perusing the case and more arrests are on card.
