The CDA chairman said that before the initiation of this project, concerns of the citizens and impact on environment would be addressed so that the citizens could avail the environment friendly facility.

He said that decision on establishment of modern slaughterhouse would be taken on receipt of report from Environment Protection Assessment (EPA) to ensure environmental protection. He said that latest technology would be used to avoid environmental hazard and unhygienic conditions.

Earlier, Qureshi said that the capital city’s population has grown to about 2.6 million and the one slaughterhouse in Rawalpindi is insufficient to fulfil the growing demand for meat in Islamabad.
