Karachi: DG Post Clearance Audit meets director Reforms, Automation

KARACHI: The Directorate General of Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Director General Junaid Akram held a meeting with the Director-Reforms and Automation Abdul Majid Yousfani on Friday.

The PCA Director Gul Rehman and other senior officers of Pakistan Customs Services (PCS) were also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, the DG PCA Junaid Akram discussed formulation of modules in WeBOC, automated system for assisting PCA authorities in their working.

The DG PCA stressed upon evolving a mechanism in WeBOC, automated system wherein Goods Declarations (GDs) cleared in past could be detected methodically.

In the meeting, the Director-Reforms and Automation Abdul Majid Yousfani informed the DG Post Clearance Audit (PCA) that the Directorate with the consent of the FBR authorities is working on evolving such a contemporary module pertaining to PCA and Export Collectorate through which easy access would be given to the authorities of PCA in order to find out the filed Goods Declarations (GDs).

It is pertinent to mention here that the Director General (DG) of the Directorate of Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Junaid Akram was also convened meeting of the PCA Directorate on Thursday at the Office of the PCA.

The sources informed Customs Today that the performance of the directorate was reviewed during the meeting while the DG also stressed upon the authorities concerned to enhance the performance of the directorate through detecting authentic cases of tax evasion.

“The shortage of staff was also discussed during the meeting with the DG PCA, adding that the Director General PCA assured the officers of the directorate that the scarcity of the officials would be redressed in upcoming days”, sources added.
