FCCI satisfied over setting up of valuation camp office in Lahore

FAISALABAD. Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) President Engr Rizwan Ashraf has expressed satisfaction over the establishment of a camp office of the Director General of Customs Valuation at Custom House Lahore.

The Directorate of Customs Valuation Lahore has been made operational to resolve valuation-related issues, while FCCI President Engr Rizwan Ashraf has welcomed the posting of officers in this directorate, which will facilitate the business community of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that uniform valuation will help and convince the local business community to utilise Faisalabad Dry Port and other up-country ports for their import and export consignments.

This will also lessen the workload on Karachi Ports that are already overburdened.

The FCCI president also asked the importers to identify the major imports that needed valuation ruling so that the longstanding issue of difference in valuation of the same product could be resolved.
