Collector Saleem appreciates revenue recovery status in region

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Appraisement (West) Muhammad Saleem on Monday held a meeting with officers to overview the revenue recovery in the region.

As per detail, Additional Collector Nayyar Shafiq and Assistant Collector Usman Tariq attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the progress of revenue recovery was discussed and the collector also reviewed the performance of AIB/R&D Section of the collectorate.

MCC Appraisement (West) Collector Muhammad Saleem further inquired about the revenue recovery status which is being resulted in the scrutiny of the import data since the year 1990.

Additional Collector Nayyar Shafiq briefed the Collector about the ongoing pace of revenue recovery and stated that around Rs40million recovery has been made by the collectorate while demand notices of around Rs25million are to be issued to the defaulters by the end of this month in order to recovery the government revenue.

The Collector Muhammad Saleem lauded the efforts of the officers concerned that are taking part in the revenue recovery campaign and asked them to ensure proper revenue by the end of the third quarters of the Fiscal Year2014-15.

The additional collector Nayyar Shafiq assured the Collector Saleem that the team of AIB/R&D will not leave any stone unturned in order to recover the evaded taxes from the defaulters and will achieve the revenue target by the end of the third quarters of the FY2014-15.
