Notice to customs officials on plea against Indian films

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court issued a notice to customs officials to submit a reply regarding a petition challenging illegal import of Indian films. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah passed the order on a petition filed by Advocate Mian Tariq.

Earlier, the petitioner counsel arguing before the court said that Indian films were included in the negative list of import policy. Despite that, Indian films were being imported through third country illegally, he added. He said that customs officials received duty on the films instead of confiscating them. He contended that Indian films were harming the culture and ideology of Pakistan as well as foreign exchange.
