YotaPhone dual-screen smartphone losses INR 14,500 from its price-tag in 6 months, now available at INR 8,999 in India

MUMBAI: YotaPhone dual-screen smartphone has lost INR 14,500 from its price-tag in less than six months of its arrival in India. The smartphone recently saw the third price-cut and is now available via Flipkart, which exclusively retails the phone at INR 8,999 in the country.

Given the number of price-cuts, it is clear that YotaPhone is having trouble finding buyers in the country. Even after the latest round of price-reduction, I don’t see the smartphone gaining any traction. Flipkart is most likely looking to sell-out the remaining inventory.

Apart from the second e-ink screen, the YotaPhone has nothing to boast about. Most of the components present in the smartphone are old as per current standards and it will have a hard time competing with newer devices, which retail at the same price-tag.

To remind you, the phone features a 4.3-inch HD LCD, 4.3-inch e-ink display, dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, and Android 4..2.2 Jelly Bean. The smartphone also packs 13MP rear camera, 1MP front shooter, 32GB of internal storage and 1800 mAh battery.
