Former politicians, Bureaucrats use 153 govt vehicles without entitlement

KARACHI: 83 vehicles of the Sindh government are in use of Influential persons including former politicians and retired bureaucrats without entitlement and have not returned the vehicles to the provincial government while more than 70 Sindh government vehicles allotted to unauthorized persons is missing from the official record.

An officer in the administration department was suspended after an inquiry into the missing vehicles.

On the other hand, 83 luxury Toyota Corolla cars are in the use of influential persons for the last many years. According to the official record these vehicles are being used by the following influential persons: Senator FN (GS A 091), Senator SG (GS 5431), former Senator AP (GS A 072), MPA SMK (GS 7010), former MQM leader and Professor QK (GS 7188), former adviser to Sindh CM MKJ (GS A 099), former ADC to former president Col (R) J (GS 7989), former special assistant to Sindh CM NJB (GS 9890), ex-DC MJQ (GS 7158), former officer of Sindh government IHZ (GS 7316), former secretary implementation and coordination HU, (GS A 212), former secretary of Sindh government now employee of federal government AMG (GS 7320) in addition to one Suzuki Cultus (GS 7511), former secretary Sindh government RA possesses a Toyota Corolla Car GS 6739, former Secretary Sindh government Dr RK (GS 6727), govt official SBD (GS 7159), a former Sindh government officer now serving in the federal government (GS 7113), another former Sindh government officer now serving in the federal government (GS 7069), retired additional home secretary KD (GS 7354), former officer of Sindh government SS (GS 9983), former officer of Sindh government AK (GS 9563), former officer of Sindh government AZ (GS 7371), former additional secretary transport Dr IB (GS 7064), former officer of Sindh government AK (GS 6227), former DG protocol DA (GS A 088), former secretary prisons AHB (GS 7892), IB (GS 5440), former secretary Sindh government AAB (GS B 034, GS 9045) and Imran Jaffri (GS 7831).

The official list shows that three Toyota Corolla cars (GS 6516, GS 7986, GS 9985) are in possession of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) while one Toyota Corolla (GS 7129) is in unauthorised use of a NAB director HAW and two Toyota Corolla cars in unauthorised use of provincial Election Commission officers.

Sources in the Sindh government said a leader of Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) is also using two Toyota Corolla cars and is not ready to return them.
