PDWP approves 15 uplift projects worth Rs23.05b at its 40th meeting of FY 2014-15

LAHORE: During its 40th meeting of current fiscal year 2014-15, the Provincial Development Working Party Punjab (PDWP) okayed 15 development projects of different sectors to be completed at a cost of Rs23.05 billion.

As per spokesman for P&DD, these schemes are: 2×55 MW (gross) coal fired power plant at M-3 Industrial City, Faisalabad at the cost of Rs15461.16 million, development of infrastructure in industrial estates of small industries estates, Sialkot, Gujranwala-I, Gujranwala-II, Bahawalpur at the cost of Rs226.636 million, feasibility study of a pilot project for Inland Waterways Transport (IWT) in Punjab for the pilot reaches between Attock-Daudkhel & Daudkhel-Taunsa (PC-II) at the cost of Rs53.000 million, widening/improvement of road from Kadhala to Malki via Aach to Ghulam Chowk to Kharana Tehsil Kharian, length=16.27 km, Gujrat at the cost of Rs277.478 million.

Likewise, it alos approved upgrading of mechanical system for sewerage and drainage services in Gujranwala (revised) at the cost of Rs1165.883 million, implementation of Master Plan Phase-III, Lahore General Hospital, Lahore (revised) at the cost of Rs.730.601 million, construction of new block at Press Law Building in Punjab Civil Secretariat, Lahore at the cost of Rs485.694 million, Lahore Ring Road (Package-3C) construction of underpass at Karol Ghatti on Ring Road Lahore at the cost of Rs583.049 million, Lahore Ring Road (Package-12A) vonstruction of underpass at Bhaini Road on Ring Road Lahore (revised) at the cost of Rs.540.897 million.
