Appraisement-West surpasses revenue target by Rs 533.88 million in March

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Appraisement-West has collected Rs 21.32 billion during March against the set target of Rs 20.78 billion, with a surplus of Rs 533.88 million.

The Appraisement-West collected revenue under the heads of customs duty (CD), sales tax (ST), income tax (IT) and federal excise duty (FED) during the said period.

According to revenue statistics, the MCC Appraisement-West collected Rs 10.15 billion in the share of customs duty against the set target of Rs 11.35 billion with a decrease of Rs 1.208 billion in March 2015.

The collectorate collected Rs 8.018 billion in share of sales tax in the month of March against the set target of Rs 6.814 billion with an increase of Rs 1.203 billion.

Appraisement-West collected Rs 2.999 billion in wake of income tax during the said period against the set target of Rs 2.522 billion with an increase of Rs 476.21million.

The collectorate has collected revenue of Rs156 million in share of federal excise duty in the month of March 2015 against the set target of Rs 93.90 million with an increase of Rs 62.10 million.

Appraisement-West Collector Muhammad Saleem is quite satisfied with the performance of the collectorate in connection with the revenue collection during the last month of the third quarter of the fiscal year 2014-15, while he stressed the authorities concerned of the collectorate to further expedite the pace of revenue generation for getting more effective results.

It is pertinent to mention here that the MCC Appraisement-West has surpassed the revenue targets altogether set by the FBR in all three months of the third quarter of the fiscal year 2014-15.
