WASHINGTON: A 36-year-old resident of Brazil who tried to sneak his family into the United States in a freight train from Canada pleaded guilty to illegally entering the United States and was spared more jail time by US Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy.
Demilson Loubak Ferreira his wife and children were found by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer who inspected a freight train stopped routinely on the Black Rock International Bridge. Ferreira’s wife and child were returned to Canada Friday and Ferreira will be taken back to Canada shortly, according to Assistant US Attorney Paul J. Campana.
