MUSCAT: Oman’s MSM30 index raised 1.24 percent to close at 6,188.97 points and the MSM Shariah index added 0.46 per cent.
The Financial and Services and Industrial indices closed up by 0.87 per cent, 0.64 per cent and 0.42 per cent, respectively. Total market turnover stood at RO4.88mn against roughly 23.3mn securities traded. Investors are awaiting first-quarter earnings releases and related disclosures as they build positions in key stocks. Disclosures posted on the MSM website included resolutions passed at various annual general meetings (AGMs).
Market breadth remained positive with 19 stocks rising, four falling and 16 remaining unchanged. Ahlibank, Galfar, Global
Financial Investment, Bank Muscat and Omantel were amongst the top gainers, while Al Sharqia Investment, Al Batinah Development Investment Holding, National Aluminium Products and Bank Nizwa were amongst the top losers for the day.
