LONDON: Amazon has unveiled a new device ‘Dash Button’, to offer consumers a convenient option to re-order basic household goods.
The device is WiFi-enabled and is designed to be stuck to appliances or hung in a convenient spot. The Amazon mobile app allows consumers to select which item to link the Button to, and after this, whenever the button is pressed, Amazon will deliver that item home. Only one delivery will be processed at a time, eliminating the possibility of mistaken orders due to accidental pressing of the button.
The Button is currently limited to one brand each for the categories on offer such as Tide for washing powder. It is available on an invitation only basis to US members of the Amazon Prime scheme, and each customer can get up to three such Buttons.
