The workshop was co-organised by the Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) Pakistan and International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD).

Mushahid further said that we should device policies in efforts to mitigate the implication of climate change. He said that energy resources must be replaced with alternative energy, which is cost-effective and environment-friendly.

The minister highlighted that out of total emissions in the country, six percent come from industry and one percent from industrial waste or other type of waste. He said industrial growth was essential to achieve economic goals but what we need is to evolve a strategy for a safer environment.

Climate Change Secretary Arif Khan, Ali Tauqeer Sheikh from LEAD Pakistan, Ali from WWF and Environment Director General Sajjad Bhutta also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of the workshop.
