Karachi: AFU collects Rs 2.774 billion taxes in March

KARACHI:  Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Preventive Karachi Air Freight Unit (AFU) has collected Rs 2.774 billion during March-2015 in wake customs duty, sales tax, additional sales tax, withholding tax and federal excise duty.

As per available statistics, AFU has collected Rs 961.07 million in share of customs duty in March-2015, while it collected Rs 855.38 million during last month, February.

The AFU has collected Rs 1076.81 million as sales tax including the sum of additional Sales Tax during March, while it collected Rs 996.82 million under the same heads in February.

The Air Freight Unit has collected Rs 736.81 million in share of withholding tax in March-2015, while the Rs 685.46 million was collected under the same head during February-2015.

AFU collected Rs 0.01 million as federal excise duty during March of current fiscal year while it also collected Rs 0.01 million February.

The Chief Collector of Enforcement-South Nazim Saleem and the Collector of MCC Preventive Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda have expressed their satisfaction over the revenue collection of March by AFU.

Both the high officials of Pakistan Customs lauded the performance of the authorities concerned at AFU and asked them to continue their same efforts in order to increase the revenue collection in all heads.
