Viber upgrades its Android app version 5.3, in support for Android Wear devices

MUMBAI: Viber has upgraded its Android app version 5.3 and has added in support for Android Wear devices along with some new features to improve the user’s experience.

With this update, users can send and receive messages from their Android SmartWatch and also send new Viber messages directly from the SmartWatch, using voice commands. With the new chat admin option, users can manage group chats, edit info and delete participants.

Viber has also upgraded the contact for each profile which provides a person’s name and photo when a user interacts, even if they are not saved in the contact list. In other features, the latest update for Android has some animated stickers and has also made some enhancements to its Public Chat feature as well. This feature allows users to browse through celebrity conversations and go behind the scenes with music, film, fashion, sports or whatever else they like.

Users can download the updated Viber app from the Google Play Store. The updated app is 34MB and is compatible with devices running on Android 2.3 or above.

Recently, Viber had launched a new gaming service for users worldwide. The company currently has three games which are standalone apps that users can download from the Play Store or iTunes. They include Viber Pop, Viber Candy Mania and Wildluck Casino. Users will also be able to send game invites via Viber and see which games their friends are currently playing.
