Gujranwala RTO issues arrest warrants of 30 tax-defaulters

SIALKOT: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax office (RTO) Gujranwala has issued the arrest warrants of as many as 30 tax defaulters and impounded ten luxury vehicles of non-taxpayers in Gujranwala Division.

According to the FBR officials, RTO Gujranwala Chief Commissioner Mansur Ahmed Bajwa has issued the arrest warrants of the tax defaulters, while a special recovery team under the supervision of Additional Commissioner Waqas Aslam impounded 10 luxury vehicles as the compensation of due taxes.

Sources said that FBR has compiled the lists of tax evaders in the region, who mis-declared their assets while submitting record to department. They added that department is striving to recover the evaded taxes as much as possible from the chronic tax defaulters and launching campaigns against them time to time.

Senior FBR officials also informed that earlier department has attached 40 banks accounts of tax defaulter traders and industrialists and recovered almost Rs 10 million.

During the recovery campaigns, RTO Gujranwala has put ban on the sale, purchase and transfer of 40 tax defaulter luxury vehicles.
