Assets declaration: FBR sets Feb 10 as deadline for officers

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has withheld the promotion and training cases of a number of tax officials, who failed to submit their assets declaration of assets and directed all Board officers, DGs, Chief Commissioners, Chief Collectors and Collectors to initiate action against such officials.

According to the FBR, a number of officers have still not submitted their declaration of assets despite repeated reminders, which is in clear violation of para 2 of Guidelines for Performance Allowance 2012 circulated vide Circular No 1, CNo 1(4)M(HRM)/2012, dated 23-07-2012. The authority has taken stock the situation and directed discontinuation of performance allowance to officers who fail to file declaration of assets till by February 10, 2014.

It has also been decided that henceforth the promotion and training cases of defaulting officers will not be processed by FBR till the completion of all codal formalities as envisaged in para 12 of Government Servants (Conduct Rules, 1964), read with Sl. No 23-A, chapter 9 tided Conduct, Efficiency & Discipline of Esta Code 2010.

It is therefore finally intimated that action on paras 1 and 2 above will be taken against those officers who fail to submit their declaration of assets up to June 30, 2013 within time, FBR said.
