NEW YORK: A British Formula One team, McLaren has announced the official starting price for the recently unveiled 570S sports car, in the U.S.

The brand new McLaren 570S will become available for order soon. The vehicle will be setting you back for at least 184,900 USD, in the entry-level version, which is making it 80,000 USD cheaper than the 650S. This is only the start of the new Sport Series by McLaren because the British brand will unveil, later on this year, the Long Tail (LT) version, along with the new entry-level 540C, which will be identical to the 570S except for the engine, which will be toned down. Expect a 570S Spider too, in the near future, as this is said to be unveiled either at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor show, this September, or in early 2016.

McLaren has officially pulled the wraps off the 570S a few weeks back and the model made its public debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show recently. This is the first model in the Sports Series and it is rivaling the Porsche 911 and the Audi R8, amongst others. In terms of design, the sports car is similar to its larger brothers, the 650S and the P1, coming with standard features which include the new front and rear suspension with adaptive dampers, the carbon ceramic brakes or 19- / 20-inch wheels, front to rear. Power is coming from a 570 HP (419 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque 3.8L twin turbo V8 engine, allowing it to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2s and a top speed of 328 km/h (204 mph).
