Oman’s Tender Board awards RO285m of tenders

MUSCAT: Tenders worth RO 285 million were awarded by the Tender Board since the beginning of this year in addition to the other tenders for development projects that were awarded directly by government departments.

The first quarter of this year saw the awarding of tenders worth RO 188 million in addition to a further RO 97 million awarded by the Tender Board at the beginning of this month.

Tenders were awarded for the construction of the dualised road from the Raysout roundabout to the Port of Salalah in Dhofara Governorate , the Al Batinah Expressway project (packages 7,8 and 9), approval for the pre-qualification of companies for the construction of the Daba-Lima-Khasab road project (phase 2) in the Governorate of Musandam, approval for the rehabilitation of the Liwa-Shinas stretch of the Al Batinah road, approval for provision of consultancy services for the rehabilitation and development of the general cargo terminal (GCT) at the Port of Salalah.

Additionally, the Tender Board awarded a tender for the remaining work of design, manufacture, supply, installation, operation and training for the main works (No 6) of the central integrated system of Muscat and Salalah airports.

The Oman railway project has made a signification stride following the approval by the Tender Board to award a tender for the provision of consultancy services to the project management for the construction of railway track.

As for the services projects the tenders included the opening of financial envelopes for the expansion of the water distribution network in the Wilayat of Bushar in Muscat Governorate (first package) and approval of technical offers for the relocation of water reservoirs and the modification of the water distribution system at the Royal Hospita, the Bushar Health Centre, the Diabetes Treatment Centre and the Genetics Center.
