PARIS: Citroen has showed off a teaser image of its racy new crossover concept ahead of its public debut on April 8, and may potentially be the French brand’s much-needed replacement for the Mitsubishi ASX-based C4 Aircross small SUV.

The company posted the above close-up of the concet’s snout along with the following message on its Twitter account: “Have you ever seen a camera on four wheels? No? So, be ready on 8th of April… #Aircross”

A camera on four wheels? It’s not immediately obvious what Citroen’s got up its sleeve there, but an optical anti-collision system or around-view parking camera may be what Citroen’s tweet is hinting at.

What we can tell, is that the new Aircross concept will feature a front end inspired by the C4 Cactus, with the headlamps and daytime running lamps separated into two distinct housings.

However unlike the Cactus, Citroen’s mystery Aircross has each set of lamps joined by a wide grille. A silver-trimmed bonnet vent is another unique design cue.

That’s all the info we have at the moment, but with mere days until the concept’s official unveiling you can expect to get the full rundown later this week.
