Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Four ships C.V CMA CGM Debussy, C.V Hatta, M.V Concordia and M.T Lahore carrying containers, Canola Seeds and Furnace Oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain and Fertilizer Terminal and Fotco oil Terminal respectively at Port Qasim (PQ) on Tuesday.

Meanwhile two more ships with containers and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.     Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 33 percent on Tuesday, where five ships namely C.V CMA CGM Debussy, C.V Hatta, M.V Concordia, M.V Black Eagle and M.T Lahore were occupied PQA berths to load /offload Containers, Canola Seeds and Furnace Oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo during last 24 hours stood at 127,986 tonnes comprises 95,382 tonnes imports, and 32, 604 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,951 containers (TEUs) (2,235 imports and 1,716 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port.

Two ships containers ships `CMA CGM Debussy and `Hatta’ are expected to sail on Wednesday (Today) afternoon.

Outer Anchorage: Following ships are currently at outer anchorage.

A total of four ships C.V CMA CGM Musset, C.V Maersk Atlanta, M.T Atlantic Glory and M.T Turk Gaz carrying Containers, Chemicals and LPG are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal, Multipurpose and Engeo Terminal respectively on Wednesday, April 8, while another Containers ship `APL Oman’ is due to arrive at PQ on Thursday, April, 9 2015.
