NEW DELHI: OPPO has launched their camera-centric Smartphone N3 that aims to up the ante for mobile photography enthusiasts. The phone features a 5.5-inch Full-HD (1080×1920) display with a pixel density of 403 ppi. Its key feature is the motorized 16MP 206-degree swivelling camera that can rotate back to front, working in tandem with an onboard photo processing suite called PI 2.0+.

The Smartphone’s camera offers features such as multiple exposure and a super-sampling technique that can combine several low-resolution RAW images into an higher resolution picture, up to 64MP. The camera comprises a Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens with a pixel size of 1.34 micron and integrates 5 optical elements for better light-capturing ability.

The camera’s photo suite ostensibly consists of a database of thousands of common photography scenarios that is used to construct a matching library that features more than a hundred unique photography functions. When the camera is activated, the PI photo engine analyses the scene’s unique characteristics and provides the most appropriate color optimization solution in real time.

The double exposure function layers two images over each other, delivering a doppelganger effect. Also present is a multi-frame synthesis super-sampling technique that can combine several low-resolution RAW images into an ultra-high resolution picture with greater details. Compared to conventional software interpolation that most cameras use, this approach allegedly produces images that appear to be taken with a natively higher-resolution sensor.

The OPPO N3 will be available in retail stores across India, priced at Rs 42,990 via pre-booking.
