When contacted, Collector Muhammad Saleem confirmed having issued the directives after receiving host of complaints from importers regarding delay in examination.

The Collector informed that he had tasked the Additional Collector (ADC-II) with overseeing the performance of examining officers and appraisers at Karachi International Terminal (KICT).

“The examining officers and appraisers should be answerable for any delay in the clearance of GD on the same day”, he added.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Collector MCC-Appraisement (West) has already issued directives to all the officials concerned to complete the GD on the same day after opening.
