NEW DELHI: Airports Authority of India (AAI) is holding discussions with the Customs authorities to starting international courier operations from the Tiruchi International Airport.
Airport Director B.C.H. Negi told media that the AAI had forwarded a proposal in this regard to the Customs authorities for their approval.
Space was available at Tiruchi airport for commencing the international courier service and the AAI was in touch with the Customs authorities, Mr. Negi said. He said the feedback from the Customs was positive.
He said overseas cargo had recorded an increase at Tiruchi airport with the figures touching 4,950 tonnes in 2014-15 fiscal.
