RCCI to organize Rawal Shopping Festival for 9 days

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) president Syed Asad Mashadi said that Rawal Shopping Festival will be organized on May 2 to May 10, 2015 in all the markets of Rawalpindi at the same time, in which heavy discounts will be offered to customers by the shopkeepers on all products. Basic idea behind organizing this event is to promote business activities in the City as such activities were badly hampered owing to Metro Bus Project and traders’ community of Rawalpindi faced worst ever time as for as business is concerned, Mashadi said this while talking to mediamen here at Chamber on Saturday.

Asad Mashadi said that initially Rawal Shopping Festival was announced to be held in first week of April but as we were informed about the delay in Metro Bus Project RCCI extends festival dates and now it will be held on May 2-10, 2015. To a question he said that Chamber want all roads specially Murree Road and other adjacent roads clear for traffic as we are expecting 1.5 million people to visit Rawal Shopping Festival and Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed also ensured us that development work on these roads will be completed before festival. He said that RCCI mulling to announce Bank Road as walking street during the festival to provide easy access for families. He said that Executive Officer Cantonment Board Fahim Zafar taking special initiatives to complete development works in Cantt area before said festival.

President RCCI said that business community of Rawalpindi has scarified a lot for this Metro project and Chamber aimed to provide an opportunity to all affected businessmen to regain their momentum by offering lucrative sales offers to get maximum cash flow. He said that special discounted package will be offered to everyone on almost every sector products e.g daily use items, garments, electronics, motor vehicles, bike, crockery, furniture etc. Mashadi said that besides sale offers enormous mega and super prizes like Cars, motorbikes, electronic goods etc will be awarded to customers through lucky draws. He said that music concerts, fashion shows, and playing fields for children will be also be set up for complete family entertainment. He urged the residents of twin cities to come out and visit your nearest market on May 2 to get surprise discounts. He said that Saddr, Murree Road, China Market, Raja Bazar, Moti Bazar, Murree Road, Commercial Market satellite town, Scheme III commercial market, Shamsabad, Faizabad and Bahria Town areas will be included in the festival.
