AMARILLO: The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has conducted a traffic stop on IH-40, yielding 25 pounds of marijuana valued at over $154,000.
At approximately 6:20 p.m., a DPS trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2015 Ford Fusion passenger car traveling eastbound on IH-40, for a traffic violation, near Bushland in Potter County.
The occupants of the Fusion were identified as Trevor Omar Kendrick Jr., 24, and Deaundray Marquise Robinson, 24, both of Baton Rouge, La. During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered 25 bundles of marijuana in the trunk.
Kendrick and Robinson were placed under arrest for possession of marijuana over five pounds but less than fifty, a third-degree felony, and booked into the Potter County Jail. The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Needles, Ariz., to Shreveport, La.
