CANADA: The resupply mission that Space X has to complete this Monday is being rescheduled due to cloudy weather. The Dragon Capsule was supposed to launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
According to reports, anvil clouds were within 10 nautical miles of the launch pad, a clear violation of flight rules hence mission managers decided to halt the launch with two minutes and 39 seconds left in the countdown.
“Unfortunately, the west coast sea breeze won today,” NASA launch commentator Mike Curie said.
The launch was rescheduled at 4:10 pm ET, on Tuesday. Weather forecast for Tuesday also gives a 50-50 chance of acceptable weather.
The cargo that it will be bringing in to the International Space Station comes with the first ground zero G-espresso machine. Aside from the coffee machine, it comes with 4,300 pounds of foods and researches that the astronauts will have to work on at the space station.
About the espresso machines, Dan Hartman, NASA’s deputy manager for the space station program said, “We’re going to learn a lot as this unfolds over the next year. If an espresso machine comes back and we get a lot of great comments from the crew … it’s kind of like the ice cream thing, right, when we fly ice cream every now and then. It’s just to boost spirits. … Those kinds of things, I think, will be commonplace.”
