MUSCAT: Oman’s MSM30 Index down by 0.07 percent to closed at 6,265 points. The MSM Shariah Index closed at 956.85 points, down by 0.11 per cent.
Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Sunday’s top gainer was Construction Materials, up by 5.26 per cent, while Global Financial Investment, down by 9.68 per cent, was the top loser.
As many as 743 trades were executed during the day’s trading session generating turnover of OMR1.8 million with more than 8.3 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded securities, 10 advanced, 11 declined and 16 remained unchanged. Omani Investors were net buyers for OMR132,000 followed by GCC and Arab Investors for OMR8,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR140,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,726.51 points, down by 0.15 per cent. Ominvest, OUIS and Al Batinah Development increased by 1.90 per cent, 1.32 per cent and 0.65 per cent, respectively. Global Financial Investment, Oman & Emirates Holding, Gulf Investment Services, United Finance and ONIC Holding declined 9.68 per cent, 2.36 per cent, 1.37 per cent, 0.83 per cent and 0.46 per cent, respectively.
Industrial Index ended at 8,276.53 points, down by 0.10 per cent. Construction Materials and Al Hassan Engineering increased by 5.26 per cent and 0.81 per cent, respectively. Galfar Engineering, Al Maha Ceramics, Gulf International Chemicals and Al Anwar Ceramics declined 2.19 per cent, 1.51 per cent, 0.85 per cent and 0.53 per cent, respectively.
Services Sector Index closed on a flat note at 3,448.77 points, up by 0.01 per cent. Sharqiyah Desalination, OIFC, SMN Power, Al Batinah Power and Al Suwadi Power gained 4.55 per cent, 0.89 per cent, 0.61 per cent, 0.54 per cent and 0.54 per cent, respectively. Ooredoo, down by 0.56 per cent, was the only sector loser.
