The dollar stayed weak early today after falling on worse-than-expected US industrial production data, which came after a disappointing retail sales report earlier in the week.

The greenback was ¥119.13 (RM3.12) early today compared with ¥119.14 in New York late Yesterday.

The euro inched down to US$1.0676 (RM3.89) and 127.17 yen from US$1.0684 and 127.29 yen in US trade.

The European Central Bank yesterday voted to keep interest rates at their current all-time lows and rejected speculation of an early end to its ultra-easy money policy.

In New York the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.42 per cent yesterday as a rally in petroleum-linked equities helped lift stocks.
