OSLO: Natural gas exports from western Europe’s top gas supplier, Norway, rose on Thursday morning from the previous day on higher deliveries to Germany, partly offset by a drop to Belgium.

Total pipeline flows were running at 209 million cubic metres (mcm) per day by 0600 GMT, up 8 mcm from Wednesday, data from gas system operator Gassco showed. Norway’s gas production capacity is expected to be reduced by 120 mcm/day until April 28 due to ongoing maintenance at the country’s biggest gas field Troll.

Norway has a total pipeline gas production capacity of more than 350 mcm/day, meaning that the system still had a spare capacity despite Troll’s maintenance.
