Tyres smuggling case: Customs Court sends accused on 14-days judicial remand

LAHORE: Special Court of Customs and Anti-Smuggling sent an accused Muhammad Shahid, involved in smuggling of tyres ofn 14-days judicial remand.

According to details, an accused Muhammad Shahid son of Nazeer Ahmad was involved in smuggling of foreign origin tyres and alloy rims.

On Thursday, Customs Inspector Ghulam Nasir presented the accused before court after completion of his three days judicial remand, where Customs Court Judge Nazeer Ahmad Gunjana sent the alleged smuggler on judicial remand and directed to present him on April 30.

A case No. 10/2015 was registered against the alleged smuggler under Section 2 (s), 16, 156, (1) (89), 157 and 178 of Pakistan Custom Act 1969.

It is important to mention here that Customs intelligence raided the Sakhawat Tyres Trading Company and recovered smuggled tyres and alloy rims from its warehouse. Customs seized 833 tyres and 905 alloy rims worth Rs 65.35 million while searching the warehouse and arrested the accused Muhammad Shahid.
