Xiaomi’s Mi 4i to hit India first

NEW DELHI: China-based technology website has reported that the Xiaomi’s product will be a Smartphone called Mi 4i which will be launched in India.

Scheduled to be unveiled on April 23 in an event attended by CEO and founder Lei Jun, president Bin Lin and global vice president Hugo Barra, the upcoming Smartphone is expected to be the international version of the Mi 4.

Leaked specifications of the upcoming Mi 4i include 64-bit Qualcomm processor, with 8 cores running at 1.65GHz and 2GB RAM. The Smartphone is said to run on Android 5.0.2 out of the box. There is no word on the remaining key features of the Mi 4i.

With these features, it is likely to be priced lower than Xiaomi Mi 4, which costs Rs 19,999 for the 16GB model and Rs 23,999 for the 64GB variant.

Xiaomi has gained brand recognition in the international market as it has grown rapidly to become the third-largest Smartphone manufacturer in the world, behind market leaders Samsung and Apple. The company has already set up a website in the US, even though it still does not sell smart phones in the market yet.

Till now, Xiaomi has restricted itself to markets like China, India, Brazil, Mexico, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Turkey, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Hungary and Myanmar.
