CANBERRA: Ford has announced the introduction of the 2015 Focus ST in Australia starting with the 1st of May, as the hot hatch will be setting its customers back for 38,990 AUD, plus on-road costs.

The 2015 Ford Focus ST has been announced for Australia. The model in question is bringing new front springs and new shocks at both ends, a stiffer suspension system with front lower control arm and rear spring links, anti-roll bars, rear springs, tweaked electronic power-assisted steering, electronic vehicle control and several other tweaks which should transform the hot hatch into a true competitor for the Volkswagen Golf GTI.

Keep in mind that we are not talking about the brand new Ford Focus RS, but its more toned down brother, which can be ordered with new colors too, such as the Tangerine Scream gold, the Deep Impact blue or the Stealth grey, for 450 AUD, along with the Technology Pack, which is setting you back for another 2,000 AUD, adding features such as the auto high-beam, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, low-speed autonomous baking and so on.

The most important part of the 2015 Ford Focus ST is found under its hood, where the 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine is found. This is capable of producing a total output of 184 kW and 340 Nm of torque, or 360 Nm with overboost, sent to the front-wheel drive through a 6-speed manual transmission. The average fuel consumption figure stands at 7.3 liters every 100 km.
