Gujranwala Excise issues final notices to 43000 tax defaulters

SIALKOT: Excise and Taxation Department has issued the final recovery notices to as many as 43000 tax defaulters to recover professional tax.

EXT issued notices to defaulters including lawyers, doctors, educationists, property dealers, clinics, private hospitals, jewelers, restaurants and industrial units in Gujranwala Division’s all the six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts, in a bid to recover professional taxes from chronic defaulters, in this regard.

According to the senior officials of E&T Department, the above-mentioned defaulters were the defaulters of the Rs 25.4 million in terms of professional taxes.

E&T Department has formulated 20 special recovery teams with special tasks of the recovery till the end of June 2015.

“The E&T Department has issued the final recovery notices to above-mentioned 43000 defaulters of the professional taxes, asking them to ensure the early payment of their dues, in this regard”, the senior officials added.
