NEW DELHI: Three words mark the 2015 Murano: spacious, ergonomic and stylish. For 2015, Nissan gave a full update to the Murano to bring all-new, bold styling, better interior ergonomics, and a more fuel-sipping power train. This may now be one of the best crossovers in its class.

Significant updates for the all-new 2015 Murano include a more spacious interior, beautiful new exterior styling, and the addition of Zero Gravity seating in four seating positions. Four trim levels in both front- and rear-wheel drive are available and interestingly, fuel economy doesn’t suffer when opting for the AWD option.

The bold, distinctive, limousine-like exterior appeal of the 2015 NissanMurano is matched by a strong sense of luxury with the interior as well. Fans of the Infiniti QX series may note some similarities as the Murano takes cues from its luxury cousins, utilizing quality materials and beautiful comfort throughout the interior. Seating for five is spacious with more leg and shoulder room than before. It should be noted that the Murano does not have a third row option, however, but the addition of Zero Gravity seating in the front and outboard second row positions is a huge comfort boon.

Visibility in the Murano is also very good. The exterior makes it appear that the windows are small, but from the inside, they appear large due to the layout and length of them as well as the seating positions, which lift the passengers and driver up to make the window sill seem shorter.

Out on the road, the 2015 Murano is very composed, far more maneuverable than might be expected, and is easy to park thanks to a standard rearview monitor and available AroundView 360-degree option.

The 3.5-liter V6 is a solid powerhouse that delivers good acceleration and smart fuel economy in one package. It’s also quiet. Fuel economy is great thanks to that well-balanced V6 and its new continuously variable transmission (CVT) with updated tuning. The powertrain delivers 24 mpg combined in either FWD or AWD. We achieved 22 mpg combined in our week-long test drive as an average. Given our high altitude and penchant for crosswinds, that was better than expected.
