JOHANNESBURG: South Africa’s Solidarity trade union has demanded a 12-percent increase from the Chamber of Mines. South African Solidarity union represents skilled workers in the mining sector, it said on Friday.
“This year’s wage negotiations at the Chamber of Mines will be the toughest ever,” Solidarity said in a statement, citing troubled labour relations, low commodity prices and unreliable power supply as major issues facing the industry.
