LAHORE: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Lahore has decided a case of 1,540 cartons of seized Iranian ceramics tiles in favour of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore.
Additional Collector Quratul Ain Dogar ordered that the charges that goods were brought into the country without payment of duties and taxes stand established following the confession of the respondents.
The collector ordered to redeem the confiscated tiles to the lawful owners following the payment of redemption fine equal to 20 percent of the assessed value of the same in addition to payment of duty and taxes payable.
The impounded truck bearing registration number TKU-605 that transported tiles was also ordered to be released to the lawful owner following payment of Rs 25,000 as redemption fine.
The Customs Intelligence seized the tiles on the information that a truck loaded with Iranian tiles was coming from Quetta near Defence Road, near Kahna.
The tiles belonged to respondents Tatazai Son of Barakzai and other.
